Upon leaving, my friend C. handed me a big book of art, saying: I cannot stand it, that's for your collages! Because she does not like the attitude of the painter voyeur (not so young), painting spreading young girl ... But, according to the text, he’s a renowned painter which I have already mentioned in my text "Wikipedia!" (5/8/13), but I resume the thread by putting it in terms of my own creation. The book is very heavy, large, with thick paper and double pages, the biggest I've used since my use of newsstands posters. After some hesitation (should really dismantle such a book), I started to cut it. I still remember that my training as a young painter was to draw and paint 24h/week nude models for 3 years and I have continued this in the 80s during evening workshops. So back to my early studies somehow. On the other hand, for a few years, I enjoyed making erotic collages, often with images of Japanese prints. In some of them, there is already an ironic element (click here) What I liked also was mixing paint (reproduced) and photo, as I often did in the past. The image thus acquired great force. Here is a current example from this book. This is a photo of the (for a bigger picture: click here) I changed forcing the line: the voyeur and narcissistic side of this kind of activity. My friend C., to whom I sent the photo by email, told me about rape. I've thought about parody with Bluto for the right character and the photo of Picasso mimicking an artist (I cannot find it on Google). The figure on the left is trying to paint his fantasy, he hardly sees the woman, while the other does not even bother to watch it, he is busy with himself becoming a work of art. And that is the real subject of this collage, in my opinion. It reminds me of my teacher of evening classes who conducted the workshop drawing nudes and invariably drew the same frail girl, even if the model was plump. And this raises the question of what we see, what we are able to see. And collage seems a good way to ask this question.

Blog on art, centered on collage. It is meant as a sort of logbook of my creative work.
